MITT ROMNEY'S AUDIO REMARKS ON THE STATE OF THE ECONOMY

In 44 states last month, the unemployment rate went up. The heartbreaking problem of joblessness just got worse in 44 states.
In 44 states, it got harder for an unemployed dad to look his son in the eyes at the dinner table.
In 44 states, a young mother worried that her daughter won't have the same opportunities as the other kids at school.
In 44 states, a man laid off in the middle of life laced up his best shoes, straightened his tie, and walked out the door to face another long day of hard stares, hard interviews, and hard disappointments.
Last month, more families were shattered, more hearts ached, and more children wondered if they’d ever see their parents smile again … because the hope of a recovery that should have been ours grew dimmer in 44 states.
In six states, people saw the unemployment rate go down or stay the same. But all Americans are hurting. Too many are living paycheck to paycheck. Just this week, we got the unbelievable news that household incomes fell even further during the so-called recovery than they did during the recession itself.
Anxiety has never been higher. Another new report out of Washington warns that higher unemployment and a double-dip recession will be a reality next year unless immediate steps are taken to avert what they’re calling a “fiscal cliff.”
In all 50 states, Americans are looking to the White House for leadership. But all they’re getting from their President is fear, frustration, and blame. Instead of uniting our nation in this time of crisis, President Obama has hit the campaign trail to declare “a stalemate in Washington.”
Think about that. With millions of Americans hurting like never before, the President has admitted defeat. With five months to go before his term his up, he’s saying he won’t even try anymore.
Isn’t this a devastating verdict on his own failure to lead?
I’ve led companies. I’ve overseen an Olympic Games. And I’ve governed a great American state. When people are telling you to give up, that’s when you find a way to try harder. When others are pointing fingers, that’s when you extend an open hand. And when Americans are hurting and families are falling apart, that’s when you put politics aside and find a way to get them some help. In a word, you Lead.
Look to Tampa. Two days from now, leaders from all across the country will gather to show Americans that help is on the way. For that father whose heart cries out for the dignity of work … for that child who needs a stable home … for that mid-career worker who just wants another chance, a better America can be more than just a hope. It can be our future. It must be our future.

WHAT I LEARNED AT BAIN CAPITAL

romney-2012-blog-image-mitt-aug-24.jpg
By Mitt Romney
The back-to-school season is here, and as parents take their children to shop for school supplies, I suspect that many of them will be visiting a Staples store. I'm very familiar with those stores because Staples is one of many businesses we helped create and expand at Bain Capital, a firm that my colleagues and I built. The firm succeeded by growing and fixing companies.
The lessons I learned over my 15 years at Bain Capital were valuable in helping me turn around the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. They also helped me as governor of Massachusetts to turn a budget deficit into a surplus and reduce our unemployment rate to 4.7%. The lessons from that time would help me as president to fix our economy, create jobs and get things done in Washington.
A broad message emerges from my Bain Capital days: A good idea is not enough for a business to succeed. It requires a talented team, a good business plan and capital to execute it. That was true of companies we helped start, like Staples and the Bright Horizons child-care provider, and several of the struggling companies we helped turn around, like the Brookstone retailer and the contact-lens maker Wesley Jessen.
My presidency would make it easier for entrepreneurs and small businesses to get the investment dollars they need to grow, by reducing and simplifying taxes; replacing Obamacare with real health-care reform that contains costs and improves care; and by stemming the flood of new regulations that are tying small businesses in knots.
My business experience confirmed my belief in empowering people. For example, at Bain Capital we bought Accuride, a company that made truck rims and wheels, because we saw untapped potential there. We instituted performance bonuses for the management team, which had a dramatic impact. The managers made the plants more productive, and the company started growing, adding 300 jobs while Bain was involved. My faith in people, not government, is at the foundation of my plan to strengthen America's middle class.
I also saw firsthand through these investments how energy costs impact the ability of a business to grow. Today, energy costs are weighing on job creators across America because President Obama has limited energy exploration and restricted development in ways that sap economic performance, curtail growth, and kill jobs. I will take a sensible approach to tapping our energy resources, which will both create jobs and make energy more affordable for every sector of our economy.
In the 1990s, when the "old-technology" steel industry in the U.S. was failing, Bain Capital helped build a new steel company, Steel Dynamics, which has grown into one of the largest steel producers in America today, holding its own against Chinese producers. The key to its success? State-of-the-art new technology.
Here are two lessons from the Steel Dynamics story: First, innovation is essential to the competitiveness of U.S. manufacturing. We are the most innovative, entrepreneurial nation in the world. To maintain that lead, we must give people the skills to succeed. My plan for a stronger middle class includes policies to give every family access to great schools and quality teachers, to improve access to higher education, and to attract and retain the best talent from around the world.
The second lesson is that we must have a level playing field in international trade. As president, I will challenge unfair trade practices that are harming American workers.
Running a business also brings lessons in tackling challenges. I was on the board of a medical diagnostic-laboratory company, Damon, when a competitor announced that it had settled with the government over a charge of fraudulent Medicare billing. I and fellow Damon outside board members joined together and immediately hired an independent law firm to examine Damon's own practices.
The investigation revealed a need to make some changes, which we did. The company, along with several other clinical-laboratory companies, ended up being fined for billing practices. And a Damon manager who was responsible for the fraud went to jail. The experience taught me that when you see a problem, run toward it or it will only get worse.
That will be my approach to our federal budget problem. I am committed to capping federal spending below 20% of GDP and reducing nondefense discretionary spending by 5%. This will surely result in much wailing and gnashing of teeth in Washington. But a failure of leadership has created our debt crisis, and ducking responsibility will only cripple the economy and smother opportunity for our children and grandchildren.
I'm not sure Bain Capital could have grown or turned around some of the companies we invested in had we faced today's anti-business environment. Andy Puzder, the chief executive of CKE Restaurants Inc., which employs about 21,000 people at Carl's Jr. and Hardee's restaurants, has said that the "current unfriendly economic environment perhaps best explains why American companies are sitting on over $2 trillion which they could invest."
President Obama has piled on excessive regulations, proposed massive tax increases, added more than $5 trillion in federal debt, and failed to address the coming fiscal cliff—all of which is miring our nation in sluggish growth and high unemployment.
I know what it takes to turn around difficult situations. And I will put that experience to work, to get our economy back on track, create jobs, strengthen the middle class and lay the groundwork for America's increased competitiveness in the world.

Mitt Romney Trying To Prevent Mutiny At The 2012 GOP Convention

By Jared Allebest
Conservative Samizdat

Although the GOP National Convention is starting up on Monday, there is a lot of action going on behind the scenes. Much of the drama is around Ron Paul's supporters who have wormed their way into becoming delegates at the convention and are still dreaming of a brokered convention in which they can crown Ron Paul as the GOP nominee.
However, Ron Paul did not agree with his supporters that it was a good idea. Moreover, even if he wanted to get a brokered convention, it would not have worked since he hasn't won any delegates in any of the 2012 primaries including Louisiana. To prevent a mutiny at the GOP convention, Mitt Romney is currently in discussions with the the Ron Paul delegates in which Mitt Romney will allow some disputed Ron Paul delegates to be seated at the convention. Yet at the same time, Romney is also working toeliminate some of the delegates as well. and to possibly include some items on the GOP platform. Thus, the old rumors that Mitt Romney might be adding Ron Paul's "Audit the Fed" campaign to the GOP platform might be coming true as Mitt negotiates with these delegates.
Although Romney might be allowing certain disputed delegates to sit at the convention, Mitt and the Republican party are doing whatever they can to ensure that the proper candidate is nominated as the GOP nominee Paulbots. They have amended the rules to require delegates to vote for the person that won that state's primary or to vote for the candidate they pledged to vote for:
Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, led by top Romney lawyer Ben Ginsberg, forced through a major change the GOP nominating process on Friday in response to Ron Paul supporters’ efforts to win delegates to the Republican National Committee..
The Republican National Convention Committee voted 56-40 to make it impossible for supporters of one presidential candidate to override the will of voters at a state convention, as Ron Paul supporters did in Iowa and Nevada.
The purpose of the change, Ginsberg said, was “to correct what we saw as a damaging flaw in the presidential election process in 2012.”
The rule forces statewide presidential primaries or caucuses to determine the ultimate allocation of delegates, preventing takeovers like Paul executed in Iowa by eliminating unbound delegates in statewide contests. States would be allowed to decide whether to give all their delegates to the winner of the primary or caucus, or distribute them proportionally according to the results.
“Iowa will have to change the way they do it,” said a GOP official.
A second component of the amendment would require delegates to be approved by presidential candidates, lessening the chances of technically pledged delegates voting for a different candidate.
Another step that Mitt Romney and the Republican party are taking to prevent shenanigans from the Ron Paul delegates is to move up the day the formal nomination takes place. Typically, the nomination occurs on the third day of the convention but due to concerns over the weather and a possible mutiny from the Paulbots, they aremoving the formal nomination to the first day of the convention. However, the Romney Campaign are denying that they are moving up the date of the nomination.
The Romney campaign are also taking other aggressive steps such asmaking it clear who is being nominated at this convention:
Using a mix of charm and procedural hardball, Mitt Romney’s campaign and his allies who control the Republican National Committee have ensured that the Texas congressman will neither speak nor be formally nominated at next week’s convention. It’s a significant victory for Romney, who could have been faced with a raucous rebellion from the Paul crowd if he hadn’t extended an early, and diplomatic, olive branch to what’s become a key constituency.
However, there are reports that there will be a filmed tribute to Ron Paul as a way of making the Paulbots happy.
I understand that politics is about the art of compromise and negotiations. It irks me that the Romney campaign has to do what it can to please the Paulbots without making people wonder if the convention about Ron Paul or Mitt Romney.
However, politics is also the art of winning. Mitt Romney went through a grueling nomination process and won. Mitt Romney shouldn't be wasting time trying to battle the Paulbots ahead of the convention,  preventing an uprising and making sure he won the nomination. The real battle is to unseat Obama but  I'm getting the feeling that this isn't the top priority of the Ron Paul supporters. It boggles my mind why the Romney campaign is even engaging in this ridiculous drama with the Paulbots in the first place.
Another thing that annoys me is that there are no reports of Ron Paul stepping in to help resolve the situation but is letting his supporters go wild. At least Newt Gingrich has the good character ofgiving his delegates to Mitt Romney. Ron Paul should follow Newt's lead and tell the delegates to support Mitt Romney.
Perhaps what bothers me the most is that there is a reason why Sarah Palin not being invited to the GOP convention or why she hasn't been allowed to have an opportunity to speak at the convention. You can't expect to be invited to an event if you intend to undermine that event and have not been supportive of the GOP nominee. I think the same policy applies to Ron Paul and his supporters. You should not be allowed to participate in the event if you plan to undermine the event and still not supportive of the nominee even though that candidate won the necessary delegates to become the GOP nominee.

David Axelrod, Stephanie Cutter, And How the Obama 2012 Team is Its Own Worst Enemy

By Jesse Merkel
President Obama has a problem on his hands. More serious than the fact that Mitt Romney has caught up with him in quite a few polls, more immediate than the edge Paul Ryan surprisingly has with seniors, and more disheartening than the fact that many experts are now predicting that he very well could lose in November.

That problem is his own team. What was once a highly efficient and well-organized campaign that led to an electoral landslide in 2008 has become a sputtering and conflicted mix of egotistical staffers and arguing advisors.

A new e-book from Politico has claimed that President Obama’s campaign has become its own worst enemy. The campaign is reading like a "what not to do" manual from campaign management 101.

David Axelrod Stephanie Cutter And How the Obama
2012 Team is Its Own Worst Enemy

Of course, people can argue that the Romney campaign has had its own mix-ups. However, aside from the "Etch-a-sketch" and Andrea Saul gaffes, Romney’s campaign has run like a well-oiled machine. Over the past three months Romney and the RNC have completely devastated their opponents in fundraising. To add insult to injury, Romney’s campaign and its surrogates have shown immense uniformity, proving much more capable than the bumbling McCain campaign of 2008.

Obama’s campaign advisers and surrogates have been a complete disaster. Deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter was busted two weeks ago lying about who and what she knew regarding a factually incorrect ad from Priorities USA, an Obama Super PAC. What was supposed to be a knockout punch to Mitt Romney completely blew up in Cutters face.

Senior campaign strategist David Axelrod has become an immense liability as well. Several of his morning-show appearances have become quite contentious, with Axelrod often taking a harsh tone with people who challenge him on things.

A rumored argument between Axelrod and Cutter spawned a weeks long conflict that left the two top aides divided and angry. Axelrod had come to believe that Cutter had taken a network television appearance that he’d been asked to do. It has since been reported that the two were barely on speaking terms for weeks, which is never good for a campaign.

Vice President Joe Biden has had his own series of gaffes lately that even the writers on SNL couldn’t have penned. Long before he made comments of a suggestive or racial nature, Biden let his views on gay marriage slip, which forced Obama to do the same much sooner than he would have preferred.

Biden claimed that Obama Campaign Manager Jim Messina, saying that Messina “threw him under the bus.” Biden apologized to Obama in a private meeting after informing the president that he believed some of the top campaign aides had betrayed him.

Florida Congresswoman and DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz has been nothing short of a train wreck as an Obama surrogate. The Obama team has criticized her for coming across as too partisan during interviews in a time where securing the support of independents is everything.

Wasserman-Schultz has also proven an extremely difficult person to interview, bickering with Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper on CNN, both of whom called her out for falsely representing everything from Mitt Romney’s views on abortion to Paul Ryan’s infamous budget.

A successful campaign is like any other kind of structure in the sense that a solid foundation is needed above all else. A presidential campaign's foundation is made up of its top advisers. When that house of cards crumbles, the campaigns messaging and attack soon follow.

The campaign that easily defeated McCain while running on "Hope and Change" now finds itself against a much more formidable opponent with a highly efficient campaign. Their sunny, optimistic outlook has turned in "Kill Romney." Perhaps it’s because Team Obama has never really had to fight for it before, or it could be that they simply don’t know how to respond to a public that doesn’t seem happy with the outcome of the presidents first term.

Either way, Romney ought to send flowers to David Axelrod, Stephanie Cutter and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. They may just end up being the best players on his team.

Analysis of election factors points to Romney win, University of Colorado study says

August 22, 2012 •

Social Sciences•
Discovery & Innovation, Discoveries & Achievements, Research Collaborations

A University of Colorado analysis of state-by-state factors leading to the Electoral College selection of every U.S. president since 1980 forecasts that the 2012 winner will be Mitt Romney.

The key is the economy, say political science professors Kenneth Bickers of CU-Boulder and Michael Berry of CU Denver. Their prediction model stresses economic data from the 50 states and the District of Columbia, including both state and national unemployment figures as well as changes in real per capita income, among other factors.

“Based on our forecasting model, it becomes clear that the president is in electoral trouble,” said Bickers, also director of the CU in DC Internship Program.

According to their analysis, President Barack Obama will win 218 votes in the Electoral College, short of the 270 he needs. And though they chiefly focus on the Electoral College, the political scientists predict Romney will win 52.9 percent of the popular vote to Obama’s 47.1 percent, when considering only the two major political parties.

“For the last eight presidential elections, this model has correctly predicted the winner,” said Berry. “The economy has seen some improvement since President Obama took office. What remains to be seen is whether voters will consider the economy in relative or absolute terms. If it’s the former, the president may receive credit for the economy’s trajectory and win a second term. In the latter case, Romney should pick up a number of states Obama won in 2008.”

Their model correctly predicted all elections since 1980, including two years when independent candidates ran strongly, 1980 and 1992. It also correctly predicted the outcome in 2000, when Al Gore received the most popular vote but George W. Bush won the election.

The study will be published this month in PS: Political Science & Politics, a peer-reviewed journal of the American Political Science Association. It will be among about a dozen election prediction models, but one of only two to focus on the Electoral College.

While many forecast models are based on the popular vote, the Electoral College model developed by Bickers and Berry is the only one of its type to include more than one state-level measure of economic conditions.

In addition to state and national unemployment rates, the authors looked at per capita income, which indicates the extent to which people have more or less disposable income. Research shows that these two factors affect the major parties differently: Voters hold Democrats more responsible for unemployment rates while Republicans are held more responsible for per capita income.

Accordingly -- and depending largely on which party is in the White House at the time -- each factor can either help or hurt the major parties disproportionately.

Their results show that “the apparent advantage of being a Democratic candidate and holding the White House disappears when the national unemployment rate hits 5.6 percent,” Berry said. The results indicate, according to Bickers, “that the incumbency advantage enjoyed by President Obama, though statistically significant, is not great enough to offset high rates of unemployment currently experienced in many of the states.”

In an examination of other factors, the authors found that none of the following had any statistically significant effect on whether a state ultimately went for a particular candidate: The location of a party’s national convention; the home state of the vice president; or the partisanship of state governors.

In 2012, “What is striking about our state-level economic indicator forecast is the expectation that Obama will lose almost all of the states currently considered as swing states, including North Carolina, Virginia, New Hampshire, Colorado, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida,” Bickers said.

In Colorado, which went for Obama in 2008, the model predicts that Romney will receive 51.9 percent of the vote to Obama’s 48.1 percent, again with only the two major parties considered.

The authors also provided caveats. Factors they said may affect their prediction include the timeframe of the economic data used in the study and close tallies in certain states. The current data was taken five months in advance of the Nov. 6 election and they plan to update it with more current economic data in September. A second factor is that states very close to a 50-50 split may fall an unexpected direction.

“As scholars and pundits well know, each election has unique elements that could lead one or more states to behave in ways in a particular election that the model is unable to correctly predict,” Berry said.

Election prediction models “suggest that presidential elections are about big things and the stewardship of the national economy,” Bickers said. “It’s not about gaffes, political commercials or day-to-day campaign tactics. I find that heartening for our democracy.”

Communist Party USA Says Re-electing Obama is “Absolutely Essential”

By Cliff Kincaid — June 27, 2012 (Accuracy in Media)

A writer for the Communist Party USA says that “…re-electing Obama is absolutely essential,” and warns that “divisions among Democrats and a potential wave of bad economic news can combine to threaten President Obama’s reelection.”

Marxist John Case, who writes for various CPUSA publications, has written a piece, “The danger of a Romney election,” for the party publication People’s World, which warns that “Re-electing Obama is not sufficient to bring economic recovery or even relief to our people. Only a different class configuration in political power can do necessary minimum reforms to give us a chance. But re-electing Obama is absolutely essential. Now is not the time for hand washing the complexities and tactics away—or failing to triage the most critical questions from those that are less critical. We cannot win everything at once!”

In reality, the CPUSA’s endorsement of Obama for a second term is not surprising. Various CPUSA officials, including Jarvis Tyner and Joelle Fishman, have openly expressed support for the U.S. President and his agenda.

Since 1988, the CPUSA has not run its own candidates for president and vice-president, preferring instead to work through the Democratic Party. Its support for Obama in 2008 and again this year has been open and outspoken.

The Case article offers a rationale, mostly on economic grounds, for getting Obama re-elected to a second term. He claims that the Republicans intend to do on a national level what Scott Walker has done as governor in Wisconsin—reduce government spending and the power of organized labor. Case refers to the prospect of a national “Walker-like regime.” Case laments the fact that “many private sector workers,” including 25 percent of Wisconsin union members, supported Walker.

In that case, as we have reported, Obama’ progressive allies were soundly defeated by Walker and his conservative backers.

Obama’s support in the CPUSA, a political entity once funded and directed by Moscow, has become an open secret, although the major media treat the subject as something not worthy of serious discussion. This silent treatment extends to the matter of Obama’s mentor, a member of the CPUSA named Frank Marshall Davis. Members of the party have known of Obama’s connection to Davis for many years, which may account for their support of the Democratic Party politician in 2008 and now in 2012. A congressional friend of Obama’s from his Chicago days, Rep. Danny K. Davis, still associates with the CPUSA and even accepted an award from them.

Obama isn’t the only Democrat getting various kinds of communist support. Workers World Party, an openly Marxist-Leninist party, endorsed Democrat Charles Barron for the U.S. House in the 8th Congressional District in New York City. However, in that primary election, which was held on June 26, Barron lost.

The Workers World Party newspaper referred to Barron, a city council member, as “a former Black Panther who continues to connect with many sectors of the progressive movement. He has marched alongside oppressed activists and Occupy Wall Street in the fight against poverty, budget cuts, foreclosures, racial profiling like stop-and-frisk, police brutality, the prison-industrial complex, and all forms of injustice at home and abroad.” It said Barron had won the endorsement of District Council 37, the city’s largest public employee union, representing 125,000 members and 50,000 retirees, and the black-oriented Amsterdam News.

The Workers World Party was investigated by the House Internal Security Committee for its support of the North Korean regime and Arab terrorist groups. But the House Committee was disbanded by liberals in Congress.

The CPUSA writer John Case has not been without criticism of Obama, saying that the Democratic President made a huge mistake by firing Van Jones as White House Green Jobs czar after his communist background came to light. Case wrote last year that Jones’ “Rebuild the Dream” campaign “contains all the elements that save the Obama presidency that discarded him, and the party that failed to come to his defense.”

There is speculation that Jones was fired because the chain of command that hired him led to the Oval Office, including Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett and Obama himself.

Jones remains a major figure in the progressive movement backing Obama, however, and was a featured speaker at the “Take Back the American Dream” conference recently held in Washington, D.C. Participants in the conference included Communist Party activists Jarvis Tyner and Joelle Fishman.

WARNING!

By Kenny Youngblood
WARNING: On This Tuesday August 21, 2012 Russia And China Have Issued The Following Warning To The Western Nations (That Means The United States Of America, Either Under Her Own Flag Or Together With, And Leading The United Nation’s Western Countries, As Her Allies): “DO NOT TAKE ANY MILITARY ACTION IN THE COUNTRY OF SYRIA“.

This Warning Comes After Yesterday‘s Comments Made During The White House Press Conference, Where Mr. Obama Stated, ”The U.S. Could Intervene In The (18)Eighteen Month “Civil War” IF The (Syrian) Government Forces Uses Chemical Weapons Against “Rebel” Fighters.”

The Syrian Allies, Russia And China Have Previously Vetoed (3)Three Separate United Nation’s (UN) Security Council Resolutions Which Were Backed By The “West” And Were Designed To Force The President Of Syria To Stop Using His Country’s Military Defense Forces Against Those He Classified As “Rebel Fighters”, Because It Was Proven That The Syrian Military Wasn’t
Just “Defending Against” Those Classified As “Rebel Fighters” But Was In Fact, Perpetrating Violent Massacre’s Of Syrian Civilians Which Had No Apparent Or Obvious Ties To Any “Rebel Fighters” And The Syrian Military Has Been Responsible Now, For An Estimated Twenty Thousand Deaths Of Syrian Citizens.

So How Did Syria React After Hearing This Warning To Us, From Russia And China? It Clearly Has Only Emboldened Their Leaders To Continue As They Sole Desire. As Proven By Their Own Mr. Qadri Jamil, The Syrian Deputy Prime Minister When He Came Out Today And Issued His Own Warning To America And Western Countries As Well As, Simultaneously Crushing Any Hope That Any Syrian Civilians May Have Had Of Salvation From The West, When He Stated, “Direct Military Intervention In Syria Is Impossible, Because Whoever Thinks About It, Apparently Is Heading Towards A Confrontation Wider That Just Within Syria‘s Borders.“

Thus, As Feared When Many Voiced Their Concerns Of A Weak Obama Administration Causing The United States To Appear Weak Around The World, Has Now Been Proven True On The World Stage.

But Wait, Today The White House Again Responded With….. Cricket’s Chirping…

Maybe Mr. Obama Only Takes This As Serious As He Does The United States Navy Seals…

There Will Be No Brokered GOP Convention

By Jared Allebest
Conservative Samizdat

With the Republican National Convention in Tampa Florida coming up next week, there are still those who yearn for a brokered convention. Many of Ron Paul's supporters were hoping that he would push for it but it appeared that Ron Paul did not agree with his supporters that it was a good idea. Moreover, even if he wanted to get a brokered convention, it would not have worked since he hasn't won any delegates in any of the 2012 primaries including Louisiana. Ron Paul will provide a different kind of excitement at the GOP convention since he will be rocking the GOP convention by hosting a fun rally and after party.
However, that is not to say that Ron Paul won't have an impact on the GOP convention. Despite the fact that people like Rick Santorum strongly warned against any attempt by Ron Paul and his supporters to not mess with the GOP platform, the old rumors that Mitt Romney might be adding Ron Paul's "Audit the Fed" campaign to the GOP platform might be coming true as Mitt ponders including it this year's platform. Ron Paul's idea is the only good idea he's ever had and the idea of auditing the Fed is currently making its way though congress.  I'm open to adding that to the GOP platform but any other request from Ron Paul supporters to add more items on the platform is asking too much.
I don't think Ron Paul was ever serious about making a brokered convention happen. However, there is evidence that Sarah Palin wants it to happen. Ann Coulter explains why having her lead a brokered convention is a bad idea:
Coulter, who was asked about the prospects of a brokered Republican convention, hinted — as she has done in the past – that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is promoting the idea because she would like to be considered for the GOP nomination should a brokered convention occur. Coulter warned that selecting a candidate that way would void the vetting process that has weeded out inferior candidates.
“One of the ones promoting that [a brokered convention] is Sarah Palin, who has suggested herself as the choice,” Coulter said. “I think as long as it’s between us girls — I’ve been observing something about her. I don’t think it’s likely to happen. I don’t know what these people are cheering for. As I wrote in a column a few weeks back, who is this dream candidate we’re hoping to get from the convention, because Rick Perry used to be the dream candidate. Can we see them in a debate first?”
As a result, it should be clear why Sarah Palin not being invited to the GOP convention or why she hasn't been allowed to have an opportunity to speak at the convention. You can't expect to be invited to an event if you intend to undermine that event and have not been supportive of the GOP nominee.
Presidential conventions in both parties are highly scripted and highly managed events. With regards to the 2012 GOP Convention, its possible that anything could happen but the Republican Party will ensure that everything will go as planned.

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan Town Hall Meeting / New Hampshire

Aug. 20, 2012

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan spoke at a town hall meeting. Representative Ryan in his speech praised Mr. Romney's business and political record, contrasting Mr. Romney's economic proposals with President Obama's agenda and history as president. Mr. Romney among his remarks said that among the things he would do if elected would be to implement trade policies that "crack down on cheaters like China," improve schools, lower taxes and decrease regulations, and invest more in coal, gas, and nuclear energy. Among the topics they addressed during questions from attendees were the national debt, school loans, auditing the Federal Reserve, and handling the war in Afghanistan.

So What Is The Truth About Medicare? You Have Heard Completely Contradicting Claims Made By Either Political Party, So Therefore, Someone Must Not Be Telling You The Truth.

How Do You Know Who Is Being Truthful On Such An Important Issue, Not Only To Our Current Seniors But Also To Each And Every Single Person Who Ever Plans On Someday Even Becoming A Senior.

We Must Listen To And / Or Read What The Actual Candidates Have Said And Are Actually Saying And We Must Try To Ignore Those Pesky Surrogates, Who Are Like Human Recordings, Of The Almost Childlike One-Liner Talking Points, Who Offer No Real Substance To The Conversation.

FIRST: Mr. Obama States That The “Romney / Ryan Plan” Completely Guts And Will End Medicare As We Know It And Will Leave Millions Of Seniors Without Health Care Coverage, Because “They” (Romney And Ryan) Are Taking 716 Billion Dollars Out Of The Medicare Program In Budget Cuts.

Mr. Obama’s Own Words Reek With Irony And Could Almost Be Considered Laughable If The Subject Wasn’t So Very Important To Our Loved Ones As Well As To Our Own Selves…

You May Ask, Why Are Mr. Obama’s Words So Ironic ? It Is Because That Same 716 Billion Dollars, That Mr Obama Is Accusing The “Romney / Ryan Plan” Of Cutting, Is Only Partially Accurate, So Therefore, Completely Mis-Representative Of The Actual Facts And The Whole Truth.

When Mr. Obama And The Democrat Controlled Senate And House Of Congress, Passed The “Obama Health Care Reform Act” Into Law, The 716 Billion Dollar Medicare Fund Cuts Were Written Within That Very Bill / Law, But Only Those Few Who Really Read It, Would Have Actually Known.

It Was Only Due To The Continued Failure Of The Democrat Controlled Houses Of Congress To Fulfill Their Lawful Duty And Pass A Federal Budget, That Congressman Paul Ryan Of The House’s Minority, Republicans, Took The Initiative To Head Up A Committee To Fulfill This Duty And Submit Their Budget For Review And A Vote.

Being Prudent In His Assumed Duties To Write And Submit A Budget, In The Lieu Of The Continued Absence Of Any Such Submission From The House Controlled Democrat Party, Mr. Ryan Applicably Took Into Consideration The Same Exact 716 Billion Dollar Budget Cuts, Contained In The “Obama Health Care Reform Act” Which Had Just Recently Been Signed Into Law, Even Though It Was Being Challenged In Court, There Were No Guarantees If The Law Would Be Struck Down Or Be Upheld And Mr. Ryan Had To Responsibly Take Into Consideration, Only The Current Reality.

However, Mr. Obama Now Addresses This Same Fact, With His Argument, “Well He (Mr. Ryan) Didn’t Say He Would Put The 716 Billion Dollars Back Into The Medicare Fund.” To Which Any Real And Credible Journalist Would Have Respectfully Asked, “PUT BACK Which 716 Billion Dollars Sir, Yours Or His And How Was Congressman Ryan Supposed To Put Back In His Proposed Budget, What Your Law Had Already Cut From The Medicare Fund, When He Was Merely A Minority House Congressman?

SECOND: Mr. Romney Has Stated Repeatedly, When Someone Asks Him Directly About That
Which Mr. Obama Continuously And Purposely Refers To As, “The Romney / Ryan Plan”, That The Facts Of Which Were Responsibly Taken Into Consideration At The Time Congressman Paul Ryan Drafted The Budget, That He Submitted For Approval, Simply Will Not Be The Same Facts That The Romney Budget Will Be Dealing With, In Its’ Structuring.

Mitt Romney Continues, Because As President, He Plans On Immediately Repealing The “Obama Health Care Reform Act” Which Had Been Signed Into Law And Returning That 716 Billion Dollar Medicare Program Budget Cut, That Has Already Been Taken Out By Mr, Obama, Unto The Medicare Program And The Romney Budget Will Take That Fact Into Consideration.

Therefore, For All Of Those Who Are Still Reporting That Mitt Romney Is Implementing The “Congressman Ryan Budget Plan” As Is, They Are Simply, Either Ignorantly Or Intentionally Trying To Mislead You And / Or Scare You, Into Trusting Mr. Obama

THIRD: The Centers For Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office Of The Actuary On May 18th, 2012 Stated That, Under The Plan Of The Affordable Health Care Act Which Has Cut From The Funds Of Medicare 716 Billion Dollars Declared As “Savings” But These “Savings” Are Actually “Medicare Cuts To Providers That Will Actually Leave 15% Of Those Medicare Providers Completely Unprofitable By 2019 And Will Actually Leave 25% Of Those Medicare Providers Completely Unprofitable By 2030.”

The Medicare Office Of Actuary Concludes, “In Practice, Medicare Providers Could Not Sustain Continuing NEGATIVE Margins And Absent Legislative Changes, Would Have To WITHDRAW From Providing Services To Medicare Beneficiaries, Merge With Other Provider Groups, Or SHIFT SUBSTANTIAL Portions Of Medicare COSTS To Their NON-MEDICARE PAYERS.“

What This Means Obviously Is, That While Many More Seniors Will Become Eligible For Medicare, The Medicare Health Care Providers Will Be Becoming Fewer And Fewer BECAUSE Of These Cuts, Leaving Many Seniors Without Medicare Health Care Providers…

Therefore, This Report Directly From Medicare And Not From Either Campaign, Is Saying That As It Is Right Now Under Mr. Obama, Millions Of Medicare Patients, WILL LOSE ACCESS TO MEDICARE.

FOURTH: So When Confronted With This Independent Report, What Is The Obama Campaign Response To This Same, That Directly Contradicts Their Continued Claims, That Mr. Obama Not Only Did Not “Shore Up” The Medicare Program And Extend Its’ Viability, But In Fact, As The Mitt Romney And Paul Ryan Campaign Has Been Stating All Along, Mr. Obama DID Take 716 Billion Dollars From The Current Medicare Program?

On Sunday August 19, 2012 On The “FOX News Sunday, With Chris Wallace“ Program, Mr. Robert Gibbs, The Obama Campaign Senior Adviser Stated, Well This Is Only “IF THEY (The Hospital And Medicare Health Care Providers) CONTINUE DOING WHAT THEY ARE DOING, Which Is Inefficient.”

In Further Explanation Mr. Gibbs Stated, “Under The Old Program, If A Senior Got Re-Admitted Over And Over And Over To The Hospital For The Same Illness, They (The Hospital And Medicare Health Care Providers) Got Paid Every Single Time That Senior Got Admitted Into The Hospital“.

((( In An Attempt To Explain How The “Savings” Are Achieved, From Which Mr. Obama Has Estimated The Amount Which Then Could Be Offset (Raided) From The Actual Medicare Fund (Actual Money In Trust), Which Had Already Been Paid Into That Fund By Those Seniors Currently Using It, As Well As By Those Expecting To Have It Available For Them In Their Future. You Know, That Same Actual Money That Mr. Obama Is Claiming His Opponents Are Being Deceptive About, Because He (Mr. Obama With All Of His Business Intelligence And Background) Truly Believes, It Should Not Be Described As, Or Counted As, An Actual CUT To The Medicare Program )))

Mr. Gibbs Continues, “So Why NOT Strengthen The Benefit By Adding “Preventive Health Care” To It And Trying To Insure That This Patient Gets “ACCOUNTABLE CARE” And TREATED Before They Get That Sick Anyway.”

That’s Right Ladies And Gentlemen, There You Have It, The Great “Obama 716 Billion Dollar Medicare Savings Plan” Which He Believes Justifies And Allows Him To Purloin Three Quarters Of A Trillion Of The Tax Payer’s Dollars, Promised To Be Held In Trust, Specifically For Them…

Definition Of: “Accountable Care” - Government Dictates That Your Doctors Get You Well On Your First And Only Visit For The Same Illness, Because No Additional Visits Will Be Covered And/Or Paid For, Under The “New Medicare” Program.

Definition Of: “Preventative Care” - Encourage All Medicare Recipients To NOT Get Sick In The First Place. Possibly Even Inoculate Them For All Existing Diseases That Currently Effect Seniors; Stroke, Heart Attack, Cancer, Alzheimer, Etc., And Last But Not The Least, Mail Out A Pamphlet Authored By Mrs. Obama About The Importance Of A Proper Diet And Exercise… Because We Believe That You Can Teach Old Dogs, New Tricks…

IN CONCLUSION: Consider This Closely… How Is One And His Party Who Are So Dead Set Against Any Negotiation Of Benefit Reductions For Their Union Friends, But Yet, So Open To Cutting The Legs Of Stability Right Out From Under The Public’s Medicare Program ?

How Is It That When We All Pay Our Federal Taxes And We Can Plainly See That Our Earned Money Is Being Withheld Into Two Distinct Columns On Our Pay-Checks, With One Going Unto The Government To Hold In Trust For Us And Our Retirement Benefits (Social Security And Medicare) And The Other Going Unto The Government To Be Used For Our Country And To Help Anyone Else In Need Of Help, But Yet One Person Comes Along And Takes It Upon Themselves, To Take From Our Side Of The Column And Freely Give It To The Other Side Of The Column, Without Anyone Of Us Ever Even Having A Say So, In This Very Important Matter?

How Is It That While Mr. Obama Waves His Hand As He States That The “Romney / Ryan Plan” Completely Guts And Will End Medicare As We Know It, But Yet, No One Even Realized That His Other Hand, Has Already Accomplished That Exact Same Thing?

Oh Yeah, That’s Right, I Remember Now… Nobody Really Read Anything Before They Voted, Just As They Were Instructed By Mrs. Pelosi, “You Have To Pass The Bill To Find Out What Is In It“…

Well Folks, Tah-Dah….

Our Generation's Time

Published on Aug 19, 2012 by
President Obama has turned Medicare into a piggy bank for Obamacare. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have a plan to secure the promise of Medicare for our nation's seniors and strengthen Medicare for the next generation of Americans. Together, they will keep that promise to our seniors, get the economy growing again, and get families back on the path to prosperity.

WHO'S THROWING STONES AT MITT ROMNEY?

By Evelio Perez
Many of America's finest leaders are now saying no to running for public office, they are saying no to slander of their good name and vicious personal attacks on their family (as Sarah Palin has found out) to having to address some stupid and innocent things that they might have said or done as a young adolescent.

Politics is now a bad word for many honest and decent Americans who won't even consider serving because of the outrageous and libelous assaults they and their families could endure.
Is there is nothing sacred left in American Politics?
It used to be that anyone born in The United States could one day grow up and become president, it is what many idealistic young aspiring youths used to dream about, it was their calling, their desire and their duty, what happened?

Many great leaders such as Colin Powell, Mitch Daniels, Haley Barbor, Jeb Bush, Mike Huckabee, and Sarah Palin have in practicality decided against running for the office of president because of the cruel nature and the toll it would take for them personally and for their innocent families, and yet one of the few that has the guts to run and face the wolves is,  Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney of whom CNN's Piers Morgan calls "the most ethical and cleanest politician in America"

In Governor Romney we have the true conservative family man who happens to lead a true conservative lifestyle that most social conservatives would envy, you can be assured that NO HIDDEN SCANDALS would ever demean and embarrass this honorable man, his family or his country.
He is a natural born leader with a gifted ability to turn bad situations into positive and brilliant successes and has the many qualities that we are looking for as our country's president.

But, be careful, did you know that Romney is one of them slimy Mormons?
Did you know that he wears magic underwear?
Did you know that Governor Huckabee once said that Romney believes in The Devil?
He also believes in killing babies, murderer!
The worst part is that  he invented, supported and directed Obama Care, he in fact should replace Joe Biden as Obama's Vice President, he is a big time flip-flopper and one of them dirty and disgusting R.I.N.O.S, TRAITOR! You would have thought that he had fangs and horns on top of his head.

Folks, I don't mind when reporters or even political opponents dig into any politician's past and try to find out what kind of person you really are and who they are voting for, including who you hung out with, what you have written and even what you had for breakfast, it is part of the process.
But in order to make politics desirable once again for our future and qualified leaders, we must put some ethical guidelines for the Main Stream Media as well as all politicians as a rule to follow.
Religious bigotry, political lies and generalities must not be allowed to continue and the perpetrators of these malicious attacks must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
One of the tactics used in today's American political world is to keep repeating known lies until they become true in the minds of the majority, they will eventually stick in the minds of many forever branding you and your family as something evil that you are not and no matter how much you try to clear your name it is in practicality too late, the damage is done and sometimes forever.

As decent, ethical and devoted family man Governor Romney is, he has changed his mind on some issues but it was some time ago, heck even I have changed my mind on many important and moral issues throughout my life.
Wow, does that make me a bad person and a creep?
Am I a flip-flopper? I guess I am, big time!
Can any of us in reality say that we have led the perfect life?
Tell me that you have, make me believe you and I will call you The Messiah, for only Jesus was perfect.
Do you really want to throw stones?
Have you ever changed your mind on anything?
We should all take a look in the mirror and ask ourselves those same questions and if you have, does that make you a flip-flopper? Are you slime? A piece of manure?

America is becoming a place where some of the greatest minds and leaders will not seek public office. Some day, and only then we will wonder why we get so many perverted, unethical, unqualified and dis-honest politicians...........
